Does Your Story Matter?

When the world feels heavy with suffering and uncertainty, it’s easy to wonder: What difference does my story make?

Here’s what I believe:

Your self-expression—the way you see and name the world, what matters to you, what you choose to share—may not change the headlines. But it does something else.

It brings you back to yourself.
It keeps your heart open.
It reminds you of what it means to be human.

I recently came across an article about T.L.J.s – tiny little joys. Things like the first sip of coffee in the morning, or choosing to chat with the grocery store clerk instead of using self-checkout. These small moments remind us that being human isn’t only about surviving big challenges, it’s about slowing down, sinking into the moment, and savoring the smallest, truest things that make life feel alive and joyful.

Writing your story is different, of course. It’s more than a tiny joy—it’s a deeper act of devotion to your life. But in its own way, it, too, brings you back to yourself. It roots you in what matters. And it helps you make meaning of your life, one word at a time.
